About The Artist: Marta Sewall

Artist's Statement:

Marta Sewall's aesthetic has always been through the five senses - seeing, touching, listening, tasting and the aromatic. Even though her paintings appear to only incorporate the visual and textural, she portrays a rhythm, sensual taste and fragrance within all of her work.

In her last body of work, EARTH ELEMENTS, the connection is quite clear and with her current execution titled: LAYERS OF LIFE - EVERYDAY EVENTS - the viewer will depict the evidence of man's daily efforts and the goings on in his world and the world around him.

The work is quite serious, but with humorous undertones. Being an obsessed observer of people, places and things, Sewall enjoys transferring her thoughts to a surface through color, texture and design.

A lover of spacial areas, Sewall's paintings hang well in all types of interiors from traditional and formal to contemporary. there is strong play of the abstract and antiquity that work together to suit most sites.

Sewall received her Bachelor of Science in Art Education with a concentration in Art History which she has used to teach and exhibit throughout the United States and Europe. Her ongoing education in these fields has been extensive.

Collectors range from private to corporate. Commissions for exact spaces is another area which Sewall thoroughly enjoys the challenge and accomplishment.
