SurfacesEvolve Urban Arts Project proudly presents SURFACES, the new exhibit at Pierce School Lofts. This month's, featured artists Patricia Gerkin & Marta Sewell share recent works they have created that demonstrate the use of texture as a tool to define a surface finish or to imply one. Michele Hoben, curator for Evolve Urban Arts Project will speak about the use of texture as an artistic expression. Light food and refreshments will be served. Surfaces is the second in an eight part series entitled Art 101 that explores the individual elements of art and design. Each month, works by various local artists will be presented to highlight a different type of artistic element (line, shape, color, value, etc.). This exhibit is free and open to the public on Second Saturday June 11, 2005 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and for private showings by appointment only. Pierce School Lofts is located at 1375 Maryland Avenue NE, Washington, DC.
