Color Play

October 4 - 31

There is no blue without yellow and without orange" - Vincent Van Gogh

Color is often the most evocative and exciting tool to the artist because it has the power to add value (darkness vs. lightness), temperature (warm vs. cool) and intensity (full to less saturation).

In October, Evolve Urban Arts Project will introduce you to two highly acclaimed artists, including paintings by Bev Ryan and photographs by Antonia Macedo, that exemplify the use of color to evoke a response from the viewer. Feel free to preview a sample of their works that will be on display this month from our new vitual gallery on this page.

Opening Reception:
Saturday October 8, 2005 4-7PM

The Opening Reception is free and open to the public. Light food and refreshments will be served. Additional private showings are available by appointment only. Pierce School Lofts is located at 1375 Maryland Avenue NE, Washington, DC.
