Midsummers Night Dream

Evolve Urban Arts Gallery is hosting the Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) for a special Midsummer's Night Dream exhibit July 5-Aug. 30. The opening reception will be July 8, from 4-7 PM. This exhibit is a preview of CHAL's 2005-2006 season whose themes will be titles of Shakespeare's comedies to tie into the city wide Shakespeare celebration starting in January.

The Capitol Hill Art League, which is composed of approximately 150 artists, promotes a number of activities each season. CHAL mounts a series of eight juried exhibitions each year, conducts gallery talks, holds lectures on a variety of art related topics, offers workshops, and strives to develop a sense of community, supportive of the artist. This exhibit at Evolve Urban Arts Gallery will be juried by Marsha Staiger, painter, arts educator and former director of the Art League Gallery at the Torpedo Factory. She will be conducting a gallery talk at the opening reception.

7/8/06 OPENING RECEPTION:
An Opening Reception will be held from 4:00 – 7:00PM in the Evolve Urban Arts Gallery at Pierce School Lofts, 1375 Maryland Avenue NE, Washington, DC. In honor of the theme for this show, guests will enjoy a tasting menu featuring selections from a mid summer night's picnic including minaiture version of your favorite summer picnic foods.
