Smoking Policy

Tobacco smoking is widely recognized as a major preventable cause of many diseases in smokers and non-smokers alike. Evolve Property Management, LLC is committed to providing a healthy and enjoyable living environment for all residents, including their guests and members of Evolve Management.

In compliance with the DC Clean Air Act of 1988, the use of lighted tobacco products shall not be permitted in the following areas:

  • Common areas of the building (i.e., laundry room, community room, storage room and hallways).
  • Near building entrances or exits (within a 15 foot perimeter of the building).

    • The use of lighted tobacco products SHALL BE permitted in the following areas:

  • Individual apartments. Apartments shared by more than one occupant will be smoking or non-smoking based upon the preference of the occupants. Where one occupant favors smoking and one favors non-smoking, the apartment will be designated as a non-smoking unit.
  • Beyond the 15 foot perimeter of the building.


    • Note: This policy applies to all residents and their guests. To help remind residents and their guests of this new policy, additional No-Smoking signs have been posted throughout the common areas of the building.
